Before you apply to foster, please read this in its entirety s
o you understand fostering requirements and you're sure you're up for the challenge. When you foster, you agree to be part of the CFSBP rescue team committed to the care, rehabilitation, safety and adoption of a rescued animal.
stering can be frustrating, heartbreaking, and challenging;
it is a BIG commitment and
a lot of work. When you enter this foster agreement, you are taking on a job, a full-time commitment, and we are relying on you to fulfill the obligations and responsibilities you signed up for to help an animal in need.
Please note. There are two types of foster agreements:
The Foster Agreement is as follows:
Please indicate that you read the Foster Guidelines, Expectations and Agreement. By choosing YES, you indicate that you read and understand the Foster Agreement and you are capable of and will abide by the foster rules and expectations. This also means you understand you may be responsible for reimbursing the rescue for any costs associated with you not fulfilling your foster obligations as described in that section.*
Life cannot get in the way of fostering. "Life" happens to all of us. As we deal with family and life emergencies, our commitment to our fosters has to be the same as our own dogs. If you have a family emergency, if a family member is ill or even passes (God forbid), if work sends you out of town, you would not decide you can no longer keep your own dog; the same has to hold true for fostering. While we will support you and help all we can, we do NOT have a place for your foster dog if you decide fostering is too difficult, life is too overwhelming, etc. In the event you can no longer foster, we cannot pick up the dog immediately and will need you to find a suitable replacement foster who applies and commits to the Foster Agreement. If you cannot find a suitable foster replacement, it is your responsibility to keep networking for one. We will help, but we need you to take the lead as we are incredibly busy ourselves. Please indicate that you understand this by choosing YES. If your answer is NO, unfortunately fostering is not for you.*
Please indicate yes that you understand and agree: Many fosters buy additional items for their foster dogs that are above and beyond the basics that we are able to provide. If a foster chooses to buy additional items for their foster dogs, that is appreciated and we are not expected to reimburse you. We provide food, crates (to be given back when fostering ends), and other basic supplies that need to be picked up in San Bernardino.*
Please indicate you understand this statement and agree to it: If at any time you feel you want to adopt the dog you're fostering, you are held to the same adoption standard as adopters. Often rescue people do not make the best adopters, as we are busy, have too many dogs, etc. If you have only one to two dogs and do not plan to continue fostering, your home is an excellent home for your foster dog, etc., we will have you submit a contract and the adoption fee for fosters is $200.
Choose all that apply:
Please indicate that you understand the following statement and agree to it: if any foster requirements are not being met -- including but not limited to keeping in touch with us, sending us regular updates and pictures, getting dogs to vet appointments, keeping puppies inside only until all shots are done, being unwilling to work with problem behaviors, behavior that indicates the fostering experience is too stressful &/or we are worried for your or the animals' health, etc. -- we will need the dogs to go to another more experienced foster where the foster requirements can be met. Cause for SB Paws dogs are "the property of" Cause for SB Paws, regardless of the duration of the foster experience. *
