Roku lived in a backyard for quite some time because his original owner left him with her father who didn't want him. He was going to surrender him to Devore shelter, but because of skin issues, they recommended he reach out to rescues, and he found us. Roku scratched himself so badly he had a few open wounds by the time we got him. He is doing so much better now after a month of medicated baths, but we haven’t determined if he has chronic skin allergies that may tequire allergy meds ongoing, or if this was a temporary skin issue, so his future family will need to watch for ongoing skin allergies.

 

He doesn’t love going to the vet, and can get fearful and nippy when being poked and prodded there. At his foster home he loves to play with their dogs of all sizes and snuggle with humans. He can be startled by loud noises and sudden movement (he has not bitten), so kids over 12 would be best, or well-trained younger children who are taught how to behave around dogs.
