Meet Daisy, a foxhound mix estimated 8 - 10 months of age. She has been through a lot in her few months of life. Found on the streets with her sister, Daisy was emaciated, had a neck wound, was pretty fearful, and then came down with parvo, from which she thankfully recovered very quickly after a few nights of hospitalization. Her sister was in much better shape physically, was more outgoing, warmed up quickly to her new environment, and was adopted. More comfortable in her foster home now, Daisy loves to run, play, dig and snuggle but she is a little reserved, with a preference towards women.

She’s a happy girl once she trusts you, likes water & naps, and is potty trained. Daisy will need consistent training by her new humans as she learns her new environment. She can still be a bit “slow to warm” for dogs/people and needs to trust someone for them to be able to give physical love. She is good with dogs of all sizes as long as they are friendly. Daisy is learning to not guard her food & it is unknown if she likes cats as she’s had no exposure. She is a very loving girl who likes her dog bed and tummy rubs from her humans.

READ CAREFULLY: Daisy's perfect forever home will have a companion dog who likes other dogs and will be a playmate, a loving strong "mom" owner since Daisy is most cofortable with women, and any men in the home must be incredibly patient- she may not let them pet her or guide her (outside, into a kennel, etc) for up to 60 days+. Daisy is good with kids that give her space but allow loving affection also. Kids 7+ that are patient with dogs would be best. Daisy needs an owner that is home most of the day or another dog to play with while her owner is away. She cannot be an only dog unless owner is home all day and has a yard. Due to Daisy's prior neck injury, she is not yet leash trained or comfortable on leashed walks and adventures so a yard is mandatory.
