We rescued Dolly from San Bernardino City Shelter several years ago with a badly infected abscessed eye that had to be removed. She healed beautifully and was adopted, but now, a few years later her adopter returned her because of life circumstances that made it impossible for her to care for her anymore. :(
Dolly is a DOLL! So quiet and silly and affectionate. As a 10-yr old she has a few common senior health issues - collapsing trachea, a heart murmur, and occasional siezures that so far are not often enough to start her on phenobarbital. It can be a challenge to find adopters for our senior babies with health issues, but we know that special someone is out there! if that's you, apply here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/forms/form?formid=3251
Her original bio from a few years ago: Talk about a survivor! Dolly's first few years of life have not been good to her. She was brought to San Bernardino City shelter with a horrific eye injury that needed immediate surgery. SBC shelter animal advocate Andrea Neyses captured the moment on video when she was dropped off at the shelter. Andrea's pictures and video enraged and upset the rescue community, and hundreds of people rallied to get Dolly rescued. Our specialty vet, Dr. Patlogar, saw the post and told us to get her to him and he would take care of her eye.
Because so many cared and acted, we were anle to rescue this 8-lb, now one-eyed sweetheart. She is doing amazingly well in her foster home, stitches just removed and spirits up!
